These skirts were designed and created by yours truly. The waistbands fit babies all the way to adult! They are adjustable to an approximate waist size of 50". That isn't a joke! Your child can wear this skirt for years to come unlike regular clothing. They are also excellent for maternity because you can wear them before, during AND after the pregnancy! Just wait until I release the "ultra gathered" collection! Same sizes more gathers, for the ones who like it extra ruffled.
All different sizes, all in one skirt! Every skirt is machine washable for ease of care in mind! They all expand up to 50" and every single one is made with two layers of lining!

I offer a wide range of clothing options, from casual wear to formal attire to Bridal Gowns. Each garment is handcrafted by me, with careful design planning for not only a beautifully finished garment, but also comfort to the wearer. All gowns have hidden built in corsetry for support and comfort. With Embroidery and sublimation added to my list of products and services, it also adds a new level of unmatched originality . I can embroider custom lace appliques and hand embellish with glass crystals of choice, or other beading options. I can also embroider directly onto the fabric before construction.. Sublimation is not only great for gifts but I can also print my own fabric patterns on select materials as well. The possibilities are endless.

I pride myself on my exceptional customer service. I work one on one with each client to create their dream garment. Having something custom designed and handmade requires a true understanding of the clients vision. For that to happen, I make sure the appointments are never rushed and my attention is solely focused on that client. It is a true one on one experience. you can read some of my customer reviews to see for yourself.

Jaybird Designs was built on a simple belief: the best pieces don’t have to start with something new.
I’m Nicole, the designer and maker behind Jaybird Designs, a Long Island–based independent brand specializing in handmade, upcycled and repurposed handbags, apparel and accessories.
I’ve always been drawn to creating things that are a little different—the unexpected details, the pieces that don't quite fit into a box, and the materials other people might overlook. Over time, that evolved into what Jaybird is today: taking something that already has a history and completely reimagining what it can become.
An old band tee can become a structured handbag. A piece of denim can find an entirely new purpose. Towels, leather, clothing, hardware and other reclaimed materials can be taken apart, reconstructed and turned into something completely unexpected.
And I don't just decorate existing products. I design, pattern, construct and work through the details of each piece so that the finished product feels intentional—not like something that was simply repurposed.
Because of the materials I work with, many Jaybird pieces are truly one of a kind. Even when I recreate a design, variations in the original materials mean no two pieces will ever be exactly alike. That's part of what I love about the process.
My style has always leaned toward the unconventional—alternative, rock-and-roll, gothic, industrial, vintage and sometimes just plain weird. I don't believe everything has to appeal to everyone. I'd rather create something that makes the right person stop and say, “I need that.”
Jaybird has grown and changed along with me. What began with sewing, embroidery and custom work has evolved into a brand centered around craftsmanship, individuality and giving existing materials an entirely new life.
Everything I create is made with a tremendous amount of thought, experimentation and hands-on work. From developing patterns and construction methods to choosing linings, leather, hardware and the smallest finishing details, I care about what a piece looks like—but I care just as much about how it's made.
There is already so much incredible material in the world.
I just like figuring out what it can become next.
